Well you've certainly demonstrated that Sea Anchors are not as well made as the original Anchor lanterns were. I notice that AliEpress have got brand new Sea Anchors for sale at £27 with free delivery. Unfortunately people report that the packaging isn't great as the globes and even the ceramic burners sometimes arrive smashed! Still, £27 for a brand new lantern is still pretty good so long as you're prepared to do some re-engineering!

I can buy locally brand new Sea Anchor clones for the equivalent of slightly less then 20 UK pounds. And of course can choose one that's not smashed. But the QC and the manufacturing quality is very poor even when compared to older (as in 10-15 years older) Anchor clones. However as a source for glass, small parts, gaskets and whatnot these are jut fine.

Now I have to try and fix the Anchor as well. I'm wondering if a rusted/weak spring inside the gen foot valve could cause the heavy pulsation/breathing? The lamp hols pressure just fine when cold tho, even up to 2.5 bar.
