Which one of these shades is the Coleman No. 318 “Fancy Decorated Shade”? Or are they both. 1. [From CQ & friends ] or 2. [From Canadian Coleman PQ with 318 Shades ] This is from the 1994 Tucker and Ebendorf “Coleman Collectors Guide 1903 - 1954”: Cheers Tony
Tony those are both 318's, and there was actually a 3rd. Your first photo was the early common version. Then there was a hard to find medallion 318 offered. And finally the 318's on the PQ as well.
Thank you, Neil and Toby. It looks very similar in design to the white Aladdin 201-6 shade… Cheers Tony
The early Coleman 318 and Aladdin 301 were made by Pairpoint Glass Co. As an Aladdin only in plain white opal but the Coleman was decorated. … before any Aussies get too excited, postage from the USA is in a shambles at the moment and I am informed by the author that USPS has suspended the “Priority International Flat Rate” service to Australia — which was the cheapest and most straightforward way to get books here. Other options are quite expensive, even in bulk. I’m looking in to solutions. Cheers Tony
