    Doh, should have figured that out by myself, but just quickly referenced the pictures when trying to date them. Thanks.

    The number 5358 is also correct.
    December 30th,1985 was a Monday.
    And December 31,1985 was a Tuesday.
    The incomplete 53rd calendar week began in 1985 on December 30th and ended on December 31st.
    Your Hipolito with the number 5358 was manufactured on December 30 1985 or December 31,1985.

    Thank you for showing this rare number:thumbup:

    I have a learning disability that affects processing numbers. I’ve read through this post and I’m just not sure I’m dating it right. My lantern is an Aida Petromax 500cp. Code on bottom of fuel tank is 3535. Is that 1953, 35 week?

    Hi Everyone,
    Received today my latest acquisition, a Hipolito 502.
    The number stamped on the bottom reads 2068, which, from reading this page, I decoded as week 20 (May?) 1986, happy to be corrected if wrong.
    Will post in the Reference Gallery once I've taken some pictures.
    Tim

    Thanks Reinhard!
    Without this, I would never ever have known the dates if my two Petromax 523's!

    @Piotrek
    The Hipolito number is hard to read and you read it upside down .
    It is probably 0468 = week 4 year 1986
