@Christer I'm using the @ because I have a few replies to do.
Yes, I believe it is gas as in the gas that is produced from gasoline or kerosene etc. Your point that most will understand what I mean is valid and that is part of the reason I used the term GPA along with I couldn't think of an easier term to summerise what I meant.

Yes, the torches can have specific uses. As you say some are hotbulb starters that people like me often confuse with brazing torches. This is the reason I suspect the list will be far larger than people may realise at first, many differing uses for similar appliances.

Yes, That settles it on the fridges and fans, they are wick so should not be on the list.

    @Sedgman

Now we are getting the hang of it. Perfect.

Carbide lamps may operate under pressure, I'm not really sure. What I am sure of is, they don't use liquid fuel, so no, they don't qualify.

    Perfect.

The updated list looks like this

    Heaters:

    Industrial: Leak Detection

    Irons: Clothes

    Lighting: Hollow Wire
    Lighting: Lantern - Storm.
    Lighting: Lantern - Spot.
    Lighting: Projectors - Slide.
    Lighting: Table Lamps

    Signs: Roadside - Roundabout Indicators
    Signs: Roadside - Messaging.

Cooking: Stoves - Indoor - Range.
Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves
Cooking: Stoves - Industrial Plumbers Furnace (I'm open to suggestions as where to put a plumbers furnace.

Torches: Blowlamps / blowtorches - Standard units
    Torches: Continuous soldering irons
Torches: Brazing Units (these are much larger than blowlamps)
    Torches: Weed Killers

    Water Heaters:

These two categories may alter if it is decided by the majority that single, double etc, ranges and camp stoves should be listed

Cooking: Stoves - Indoor - Range.
Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves

So, Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves, may become,
Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves - Single Burner.

Perhaps it may get broken down even further as such? Our stovies will need to lend some advice.

Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves - Twin Burner - Suitcase

I have removed the fan and fridge.

I like the use of examples of manufacturers. Once we start to exhaust the more common entries I think the use of manufacturers names and even photo's or other evidence of their existence should be shown.

For instance we can't just put a "Fruit Bat lamp" as an entry. Some type of evidence should be shown. Of course, the "Fruit Bat lamp" example is just a made up example.

I was emailed an entry by a friend and long time lurker of CPL, Marko. Washing Machines: Aladdin, Robincraft. Australian. I've added it to the list

Cooking: Stoves - Indoor - Range.
Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Camp Stoves
Cooking: Stoves - Outdoors - Hiking Stoves: Svea 123, Optimus 99, MSR types

Heaters: Pig Heater - Tilley IF 54

    Industrial: Leak Detection - Tilley - LD1

I'll add a couple to keep the ball rolling until we can get up to the more unusual and and least known uses. The two I added are as follows

Lighting: - Self Contained - Wall Lamps.
Water Heaters: - Water - Urn - Coleman.

I pinched this image of a Coleman urn from the web.

Wow, aren't they special. Thanks for showing them. This is the sort of thing and many more that I feel will come out in this topic.

I was hoping there would be more interest in the topic and more suggestions would be made. There are a lot of appliances that are well known that haven't been added to the list. I was just going to let this topic die off :)

I need to apologise to @phaedrus42 Phil had mentioned bread ovens earlier but I somehow missed putting them in my list. I'm not sure what the Primus bread ovens look like but if it is similar to the Focus ones I will credit them both.

As well as your bread ovens, a friend of mine Marko, kept record of an Australian made kettle appliance that sold on ebay late last year.

Thanks to those that have participated or intend to participate.

@JEFF JOHNSON I found this wick, car number plate, messaging lamp from 1912. While it isn't a pressure lamp nor will it be added to the list, I thought you might be interested.

Do the guys that do hot tar and bituminous membrane roofing work just use the weed killing torches?
I want to say I heard of an "Infrared Lantern" for something like night vision devices or signaling or night landings?

Locomotive headlight (FL6 - see Jim Dick’s book).

It always struck me that they would be a pretty pathetic headlight for a locomotive.

Yes, I would assume that a spotlight should be more suitable for a locomotive rather than a flood light.

Thank you, the Coleman radiant heater has been added.

    @Carlsson
I have a few locomotive lights I will share once we get through the easier appliances. When you get a chance, please replace the list in the opening post with the latest list from this post. Thanks.

    @aephilli
I'm not aware of infrared lamps if you find one please add it. The only lamps I'm aware of that were used on runways are the Tilley FL6. My knowledge on the subject is minimal.

Absolutely - but you can see bugger-all in front anyway, even during the day, because of the boiler spoiling the view ahead. My guess is that they were more to be seen rather than seeing-by and British locomotives weren't fitted with them...

Thank you. I have added a military section and added the 200A and also quoted your description as written by you in another topic on CPL. I think anyone like myself, that didn't know of the Coleman Infrared lantern, will enjoy learning why they were made and where they were deployed.

@Carlsson, thank you for updating the list.

I somehow deleted what I had written in response to the interesting discussion on locomotive headlights and the FL6. I couldn't be bothered writing it out again.

Has anyone got a photo of the Primus bread ovens? Are the ovens comparable to the Focus?

A very daring but also very "modern" design! Clearly fromwell before the time everyone had electric irons...
Looks like a left-handed design to me. Probably easy to swap things around.

Jeff, another one that I think is really cool is this signal lamp. It is GPA yet is rigged so it blinks. The lamp has been designed to use as a warning light for motorists. It would be awesome to find one.
