I appreciate that. I am pleased you find the subject interesting enough to participate. The valve is in a different location. That doesn't mean that Helios didn't do a variety with the valve above the lamp. I suppose there is a chance the valve on the left was a pricker operator and the valve on the right was positive shut off or vice versa. The lever, minus the chains on my lamp is the pricker operator. nearly all the lamps I can think of of this type, that lever would be the fuel on off. Most of them didn't have a pricker. This one has a javelin as a pricker. Interestingly it gives the lamps weight 3lbs. My lamp is 2.25lbs Their weight may include the dropper and canopy though I doubt it because those were variables. My guess is, they overstated the weight of the lamp on purpose.
Cha ching. Not conclusive but it is a very good start. Very few lamps are built like this thing so there isn't a chance they would weigh this much. This Nagel Chase, quite a substantial lamp in itself, only weighs 1.55 pounds with the dropper. That is half the claimed weight of the 3 pound one.
