Picked this up today via FaceBook Market place , as it was local to work I grabbed it on the way home I could see from the listing it had the rarer hood with no lip on the upper cowl , now one of 4 I have in my collection and a deep Durosil 171 Globe It was full of fresh paraffin and under pressure when I picked it up , looked like someone had tried to fire it without preheating Clean up didn’t take long and I chanced it firing up without swapping any seals As always I went for a no mantle burn first After running for a while to clear the burner I fitted a mantle form Mike at Basecamp Settled in and running nicely under the Gazebo
I’ve just realised , there is no Tilley markings on the lamp anywhere , no logo under the pump , just Made in England on the base ?? From that it must be a 1954 ? My logic being Tank with groove but no stamping, later clip style bail that appeared in 1954
