@David Shouksmith Way back when the Lamp Guild was first proposed I sent Fil a pile of stuff that I was happy to freely share, then I had a request for a $10 US payment to become a founder member. Fil clearly did not share my sense of humour, because at that time everything was done by snail mail, and being a tight git, I didn't want to pay so I posted a photocopy of a $10 bill. Didn't hear anything more.

I hadn't realised that to become a founder of the Guild you had to pay - obviously once you'd proved your worthiness!

According to several sources, FG didn't have a sense of humour. I'll not pass on other things folk have said about him.

Anyway, the Thomas Kerosafe I have and mentioned earlier, that upset him so much came from you via eBay - many thanks! :D :D/

    Hi, Henry.

Sorry, but why Scotland? Was he born there or his family's roots were Scottish?

    Hi Juan,

With a name like McRae his ancestors were certainly Scottish. I believe the location is somewhere in the Hebrides, I don't know the exact place or even which Island but I understand that his daughter considers it "special".

    Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Oh, I thought it was the 3rd of the month. No matter, there'll be a lamp burning here tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday night too.
