Noel, there was some discussion a while back on this forum and possibly on BBL too about these tripod stands. I think it was acknowledged that this was a Tilley part (possibly adopted or adapted?) and there seems to be lots of them about.
Hello Noel, no Tilley paperwork for those Tripods has turned up, so in my opinion, they are not a Tilley product. Those tripods are sold as holders for potted plants and fancy bowls and no doubt many other things, Jeff.
Hi Jean . Thanks for that . I have never seen a tripod version before but then again , I am fairly new to lamp collecting so that's probably not surprising !. I am waiting for the lamp to arrive and when I do , I will post before and after pics of it . Looks like it needs a fair bit of TLC . I just love your collection . Such attractive ones . I wonder how long it has taken you to amass them . Your Champagne shade shown in photo 1 . Is the decoration original ? It looks nice . I have just done the same kind of shade with enamel transfers and I am rather pleased with it . Nice to have a change from the rather plain look . Maybe one day I will be able to post a similar collection .... you may have to wait a long time though . Well done Jean !! Regards , Noel .
Noel, I have been collecting (and selling) for about 7 years now so still regard myself as a beginner. I see that Jeff up in Shetland has made a comment about the tripods and he knows an awful lot more than I do about lamps of all makes. The shade you refer to in my collection with the daisy pattern is indeed original but I would be interested in seeing your results with transfers. I look forward to seeing some of your pics.
