I recently received a few Tilley lamps in varying conditions and finally had time to have a play today.
I chose the better looking one and
I had to change out the leather cup, replace the mantle with one I got from BCF, and I took it apart and cleaned up a little bit of the rust. The seals seemed OK so I decided to try and fire it up. Filled up about half full of kero, pinched a meths burner from another one and hey presto I have light!
This is my first working Tilley Lamp!!
