    Interesting to see that Shep was born aged 15 - that's quite a trick, even for a old dog, never mind an new one.... ;) :lol:

    I had no idea about the bust-up between John Noakes and Biddy Baxter... :roll:

    Yes - read the article... :)

    Anyway, my Neatsfoot compound, despite hours in the fridge, remains pourable and, one presumes, still capable of doing its job of keeping leather supple... :thumbup:

    @David Shouksmith Thanks David.

    A contributor on CCS has the same brand of the stuff as me and conducted that same experiment of keeping it in the fridge for a few hours. It hadn’t coagulated as mine had.

    Conclusion, either I’ve a face to curdle neatsfoot oil or that specific brand is inconsistent in its properties.

    It may have "gone off" ? - it is after all organic.

    @Fireexit1 Could be, but I’ve not had it long.

    It may be worth taking a small amount and heating it gently to see if it regains its former consistency?

    @podbros I’ve done that and it does, but goes back to gloop again. I daresay that when the fuel gets warm from use of stove or lantern it liquefies, but I want the pump action to work from the outset.

    At risk of maintaining this thread’s resemblance to some readers (who’ve wearily got this far) to watching paint dry, one last video.

    Nought degrees today, pretty solid ‘oil’.
