Greetings from South Africa.
Have fun at Newark...
Have a great time all, wish I could’ve been there.
View from my awning, on this fine morning after a trip to the antique fair at Newark show ground.
Thank you all for the frendly Wellcome ! It was fantastik .
Roland an's Klaudia
I'm sure the pictures will start coming very soon once everyone has unpacked & had a good nights sleep.
This years event was the biggest yet & despite thunderstorms the weather on balance was pretty good. Weather & numbers aside everyone seemed to have a great time which is what it's all about.
This year we had visitors from New Zealand (Robtz), Germany (Roland & Klaudia) & Belgium (Wim) plus from Thailand, Col Sun & wife(?) - sorry didn't catch your name who visited on both days. Great effort! Special thanks to @Robtz for helping me set up & dismantle the display etc & sterling duty keeping the tea & coffee coming over the weekend!
Many thanks to everyone who attended.
We also had the Stove Wanging contest in memory of Bryan Miller & raised £55 for St Oswalds Hospice in Durham & thanks to a donation of stoves to sell from @salan3 & Geoff Boyling we also raised £37 for Help for Heroes.
@Simes & @Sarah Foley did an excellent job again with their pizza oven & mine was honestly the best pizza I can remember having & we even had free ale with the pizza's courtesy of Terry aka @Trojandog & Roland aka @rollschmidts & Klaudia from Germany. This raised a goodly sum for a Prostrate cancer charity. Apologies I forget the sum raised but @Sarah Foley can remind us!
Well done everyone!
It was a real pleasure seeing everyone & looking forward to next year.
Congratulations! It looks like you all had a very successful and enjoyable time.
Is that a crimson Bretby vase I see in your pic Matt?
It is, Jean. I'm not allowed to say how much Matt actually paid for it but it was marked £8 on the bottom. If I were you, I'd offer him £6 for it and then at least he'll have made a profit on the deal.
I just can't believe the jamminess of that lad - if he fell in the River Trent, he'd come up to the surface holding the rest of it, complete with an unbroken shade...
You’re not joking, are you David? I kind of hope that you are and I won’t feel so bad.
As true as I'm sitting here typing this, Jean.
It could have been worse though - at least it wasn't a black one. Then I'd have been crying my eyes out...
My ears are burning, someone must be talking about me. Just thought I’d put a tank in it.
@David Shouksmith @Jean J

Ahh, wonderful. Seems it was a great, and large meeting.
I envy you. Put it onto my todo list for coming years.
Great displays .
Thanks for sharing the pics.
And the Rain came but it didn't dampen us for long..
And it got too much for some...
Super pics and lots of them. Some real gems there and the lamps aren’t bad either!
Thanks for sharing the photographs!
From the VW Camper lot...thanks so much for a great weekend we really enjoyed it and hope to see you all again next year.
Martin, Michelle, Shaun & Tracey
Wow, all those photos, thank you guys for sharing. Neat stuff.
To all at CCS and CPL
I would just like to say a belated but heartfelt thank you to everyone (far too many names to mention) at Newark this year for making a first time visitor feel so welcome and included.
I had a wonderful time putting faces to names, chatting, chilling and making/eating pizza and just generally enjoying looking at others lamps and stoves.
An especially big thank you to Ross and all involved for organizing the annual event, I only wish I had not been so needlessly shy and attended years ago!
I look forward to attending next year and will definitely book the time off work as soon as a date is confirmed, and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Should also mention the excellent photographs already posted, they certainly put mine to shame!
