What was the longest and/or most difficult route taken to Newark 2024?

Great images and some rare lamps too. Looks like a good turn out, I wish I could have been there.

I did have a small light-up at the rally we were at but neither of us had remembered to bring a camera, to add to our dismay, the management's smartphone had a flat battery which refused to charge from any of the three power points available.

 

So does anyone know how many members attended this meeting?
I see a field full of cumfy campervans, but also some caravans and quite a few tents (and a very nice red VW T3 California ), so it looks like quite a crowd.

No-one from overseas this year, but one chap (Dean on CCS) travelled from the south of England by bus (four changes). Geordie Mike’s primary interest is cast iron woodworking machinery from the USA and he drove from Newcastle to collect a bandsaw in Southampton, then stopped off at Newark for a couple of nights on his way back. Jeremy (@X246A) came from Norfolk, which is quite a haul.

As to numbers attending Ross @spiritburner told me that it was close to a record number this year. Counting campervans in photographs is deceptive because these …



… were a separate rally of proud campervan owners, many of whom drifted over to see what we were up to. I don’t think those I spoke with were ready to swap fitted kitchens and electric lighting for paraffin lamps and stoves!

Great pictures again
I'm not a collector at all but I think it's great when people really are into their hobby. All the displays they made look awesome. Quite an interesting bunch of people.
Tilley and Bialaddin seem to be the favorite among the british

 

Absolutely beautiful, that's all I can say.

 

I have GOT to stop looking at these pictures......Jealousy is a terrible thing.
I felt like a child at Christmas looking at all the shiny lamps and stoves, I actually got excited.

Well there's always next year

 

Only just seen this thread.

Steve and I had a great weekend and came away with a couple of nice new lanterns as well. What could be better.

Thanks for making me so welcome at my first meet up. I will definitely be putting it in my diary for next year.
