    @Tony Press,
    Thankyou Tony, so much info here.
    Figure I'll just get a litre to start with to test the lamp.

    Cheers Michael

    Well, thanks to a couple of very kind gentlemen on this forum I managed to get a bale and kero jet and generator for my Handi Kero Pet. Previously it had a petrol jet in it, and yet it had kero in it on purhase. As expected it ran rich when fired on kero.
    Anyway, changed out the jet and generator, fixed a small leak and off she went. Burns like a crakka! I'm actally surprised how much light it gives out for such a small unit. Anyway, thanks for all the help guys. I'm leaving this one as is, no polishing or anything, just a clean, so she's ristic looking.

    I like these Handi lanterns.

    One of mine is the fastest priming and most reliable lantern I have - but then it should be because no less a person than Albert White fettled it for me before sending it over here. The only reason I don't light it more is fear of breaking the globe.

    The other is unlit, complete in box with paperwork and accessories. I wouldn't call it mint, though, because it was stored for decades in a shed somewhere - probably somewhere with marked humidity and temperature variations. Wollamboolie Base likely...

    Very very cool, its working a treat. Handi's are quick to pre heat, and once going are very bright.

    Yes, made in the same factory by the same people.

    Up to 1946, the lanterns were sold as Vapalux; from 1946 until 1968 they were sold as Bialaddin and then from that year onward, again as Vapalux. Most of the working parts are interchangeable and the differences between the various models are largely cosmetic. Hope that helps...

    I think I'd have had a go with the Bialaddin first, followed by the Tilleys and then the Handi.

    What are those two on the left - Aladdins? That hook on the handle reminds me of Primus - useful on the odd occasion you need it but a monumental PITA at every other time... :rage:

    Hi David,
    Yes the two on the left are Aladdin. The Handi is the one I just showed fired up in this thread.

    Your doing well so far @Zigfire , congratulations

    The lamp second on the right looks like a Kayen AP2.
