    Dears,

    Please find below Petromax 824N.

Manufacturing date was considered here – most likely march 1927:

Petromax 824 N advice kind request | Classic Pressure Lamps & Heaters

Lamp was repaired before, but I had to:

    - seal the leaking tank

    - silver solder preheating cup

    - silver solder J-tube (tube was assembled somehow by somebody by squeezing two pieces together and connecting them by some graphite packing, or something similar gunky stuff)

    - shorted the conducing rod (it was hand made by somebody, but too long – just like in the regular Px lamps)

    - make these small, curved brass pipes running from preheating pump

    - general cleaning and seals replacement etc.

    - glass is replacement

Lamp has interesting signs/signatures made by somebody on vaporizer, preheating pump lid and cage – just to punch this stuff had to take somebody some time, but obviously he/she was proud of the repair done. Personally, I enjoy such personalization’s which make things unique.

Anyway, at the end it is what it is – rare, old lamp working again :)

    Enjoy,

    All the best

    Piotrek

    Congratulations on completing the restoration!

It’s wonderful to see it lighting up properly.

It’s hot in Japan right now, but it makes me want to light up a lantern once autumn arrives.
