Can anyone assist helping me troubleshoot the issues with my Relum/Anchor 909 500 please? I've had it a while but had shelved it until a rainy day to have a fettle! It's barely been used but was producing the good old black mantle so obviously something was amiss! Pressure is good - changed the NRV pip and seal and also the filler seal - which was massive and led down into the tank - just to make sure. I've had the jet nipple off and inside the generator it was pitch black, so I'm guessing it had been running rich for a long time. However one thing was most definitely missing! The pricker wire at the top, which was inside the nozzle itself - the pricker was down incidentally. I tried firing it up without the pricker wire but now nothing comes out of the nipple at all - I've even changed nipples to make sure just in case there was a piece left in the hole. Stumped... any solutions please? I've not snapped the thing off by being cack handed I have to stress... Thanks as ever, Chris
Hello Chris, the link below shows relevant paperwork. The air gap in the inner hood needs to be set to the correct size. The pricker rod may need a good clean and there is a pip at the bottom of the fuel valve which also needs to be checked. The Preston ring part of the vapouriser can become clogged with muck and there are ways to clear it. Remove the jet and soak the vapouriser in vinegar for a couple of days that should help to loosen the muck. Some collectors put all of the parts into an ultrasonic cleaner.
