Repair of FL6 bulged fount bottom?

    FWIW Give it a good clean inside before pushing in if you are going to try re-soldering (better chance of soldering with less crap in seam)

    Good advice, Graham. Thanks! I think flattening the edge of the dome/bulge will also force the lip back against the tank wall somewhat.

    The problem with bashing the base flat is that you will stress the brass and increase the risk of a crack appearing in future.

    I will do my best to ameliorate that risk by annealing the area of the brass base that I will be working on.

    Been flooded with work in my regular job lately. I have not had time to do more than filling and lighting lamps (and of heaters atm.):D

    I know, with the cold spell we currently have, I've been using the Primus 1010 every evening.....current price of paraffin permitting of course. Had the Tilley and Dietz lit up as well, so the room was quite cosy!

    Hope to see some updates on the tanks soon!
