This wick lamp restoration video may be of interest. It's not a good idea to use a blowtorch on a cast iron base.
This restoration video shows a pressurised tool which I did not know existed, the tank and it's fittings and the pump are Coleman products.

Hello Tony, thanks for the links and as those tools were made in New Zealand, perhaps Coleman in Australia supplied the parts. Tony Press
I just had to watch this one twice. Having read most of the comments (even translated quite a few of those not in English) I've concluded that most (if not all) the commentators know very little of restoring old lanterns. e.g. Magnificent restoration job. Absolutely perfect restoration. You did a awesome job. Estupendo trabajo, (great job,) etc. etc. Yet the restorer never even removed the NRV from the pump let alone replaced the seal, didn't remove the gland nut on the control cock spindle to check the seal there, didn't replace Tilley style seal for the control cock - didn't even remove the control cock bush. No seal used when refitting the control cock which now has teethmarks in it because the restorer failed to protect it from the steel jaws of the adjustable pliers. As for the pinholes in the base plate, personally, I'd have punched them in a little to make the immediate surrounding area concave and used silver solder to fill the indent level with the rest of the baseplate. O.K. the lantern works but the job could have been done so much better. edit: The nuts on the airtubes should be fingertight only, the hex is only there if a spanner is needed to undo them.
I wonder how long the paint will last on the hood if it gets used, also the glass jar which would not be heat resistant, Just my observations on top of all the things Henry mentioned above.
And another observation... is this really a restoration? Isn't a restoration to put something in original condition and appearence? I would rather call the things in most of these videos refurbishing, or something like that. Re-painting and polishing seems to be the main thing.
Yes, some things could have been done better and I would not expect the glass jar globe to last, however, not many of those lanterns turn up and that one has been saved.
