Seems so strange to me now, but as I watched that ol' Irish Tinsmith It occurred to me that my 'craft' is now a thing of the past just like these beautiful old crafts. As a Graphic Designer, as a kid I learned how to use all sorts of traditional tools like ruling pens, brushes and paints, card, lead type, handlettering, film overlay colour separations etc. - A whole panoply of tools, techniques, and materials that are now dead as the dodo- since the advent of computers. Sure it's more recent - the '60's, (though it goes back centuries), but it's just as dead, if not more so.

No video, but some of the old office skills are fading away, such as using shorthand. Still useful, but nobody teaches it anymore.
