    Hey guys,

I am hoping for some advice. Yesterday I found 2 weird lanterns at a boy scout garage sale. Turns out they are Coleman 200s, with the CIA IR modifications.
One has a cracked fresnel lens, the other is missing the fesnel entirely. Both have the IR filters completely gone.

If I get dimensions, can someone point me towards a fresnel lens globe? Maybe something out of a nautical lamp?

Secondly the XRX55 material that the IR filter is made of, do you think there is something close that I could use to duplicate it?

Common lanterns but very rare configuration. Awesome indeed. Good score.

Great finds, spotted them on the CCF 8]

The only experience I've had with IR emitting lenses were IR covers for Land Rover headlamps. With those fitted there was next to no visible light but with IR vision goggles on it was an impressive view!
No use if the enemy has IR goggles as they can see you just as clearly........
But for general black ops pretty impressive!

    Alec.

Has anyone ever seen a nautical lens that might work? Apparently people in the past have used a Fresnel lens that was offered for a Coleman 200/200A but I am drawing a blank.
