Perhaps, but only if I could tell you what the registration plate said. Probably neither of those cars anyway.
Sure thing! Just send me a list. But I will only concentrate on Lux. 1914 is a perfect year to get those.
Did last years goat survive until Christmas day? And what happens then? Does it get ceremoniously burnt?
It actually survived last year. When it does live through, I think they just simply dismantle it right after the turn of the new year.
I think it is a cosy tradition and it has a spectacular size, and I try to follow it every year on that link of yours Christer. When I was a kid mum and dad always had a identical but smaller strawgoat on the table around Christmas. Nice memories. Here is some christmasspirit understandable for English too - Danish gnomes singing about memories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja42ulbgxm0 Claus C
OK, but don't anyone post that ******g Freddy Frinton clip where he keeps tripping over the ******g carpet. Bah humbug...
My mom's generation was 1st generation Dutch, and I remember a lot of traditions that came over from the old country. Candles, chocolate, and straw ornaments on the tree. No one does anything like it around here (most Scandavians settled in the northern mid-west and Pacific northwest). Oh yeah, salty licorice too. I need to find myself a chocolate orange... -a
I'm a former Michigan resident (from the Upper Peninsula), and I'd say that it's debatable any day of the week
Hi Christer - When did that happen? I'm pretty sure it was there Christmas Eve or the day before. I'm going to have to look for that in the news now. Is that a whisp of smoke still rising at the bottom? Jon
About 03:00 today then.. The locals certainly enjoyed it http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/article22001401.ab
Yes, around 03:00 this morning. They got one of the two vandals pretty much directly, and he is apparently sobering up now before they will hear him.
He might be the one who can be seen running off through the burning legs. I had a good laugh at the sound caught on the video..
Freddy Frinton's sketch is destined to last longer! The 'Goat' seems to have been inaugurated in 1966 to attract shoppers . . "I'll have a box of matches please." Why make it out of something so flammable if it's not meant to be burnt?
It IS teasing, isn't it! (I'd use a bow and burning arrow, to stay away from the camera! ) Best regards, Wim
It looks like a goat from hell now . On the video it looks like the perpetrator also caught fire for a while. May be the police just followed the smell of burned flesh and booze 8) Claus C
This one might also do the trick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmD3rXUR1Tw Pretty much scary though, when you imagine that this thing comes your way, isn't it?!
Oh my! Well Martin, if this modern approach is used the next year, we will know who it is... Atleast who came up with the idea...
Oh, he was burned down just hours after the inauguration. That's why I never posted the mandatory webcam link here; I just simply wasn't quick enough...
Funny how we didn't get to discuss his end in 2016. I think I was in Sweden at the time. We will see how he fares in 2017!
