I reckon they have set guards on it and almost certainly CCTV.
Any successful attempt is going to need a decent archer with a burning arrow or a drone bombing.
Either should up their publicity a bit. Helicopter kidnap has already been tried apparently.

I'm waiting for somebody to take on the goat with a decent set of pyrotechnics!

I’m on the side of the goat here. It should be left alone and the arsonists given short shrift.

Now that’s the burning question. I hope people will get all fired up about the possibility of a goat roast.
    Cheers

You'll probably be the first Brit to take him down:lol:
But not the first foreigner to do so.
Some years ago a visiting American sat him on fire after a pubcrawl.

    @Carlsson

I understand that the offending American went home and did not pay his K100,000 fine.

    Just a question ......
Could the straw goat eat itself, self consume?
That’ll be something to see ........

No, not what I meant at all. [-X

My intention would to visit Gavle and enjoy seeing the goat for the reason he is intended i.e. as a symbol of the Spirit of Christmas, Goodwill towards Men and a celebration of the Festive Season - that sort of thing. Probably all very boring, I know, but that's me. Obviously I'd need to go early in case some f*****t decided to have his own version of what constitutes 'fun'.

:-k A US citizen fled for home to avoid facing the consequences of their actions abroad - now there's a thing... :-#

Myn, that’s just wonderful! Your arsonist looks like a member of the Christmas KKK with his hood pulled down like that.

    The image's not mine, Jean.
Anyway, let's hope the goat makes it through Christmas.
