Polished, serviced and painted. Makes a handsome table lamp. I like the bits showing its age and the bits that show that it’s had some love. I tried a 5 inch Vapouriser but that gave a lot of flame above the mantle, a 7 inch was perfect.
It's working well! The 606 vapouriser which you mentioned probably has an enlarged jet, hence the flames.
Yes, it’s adjusted there so there’s no flame. I prefer the 169 to be honest but I will get a 606 if that’s what it would have originally had.

also if you are going to use a shade then a higher or lower gallery may improve things ? sometimes its just what looks or feels right
I’ve got a shade coming. I’m happy with how it’s turned out. It did seem a bit tight for space to preheat under the globe with the 606 so I’ll keep the 7”. It’ll look a picture with a glass shade, even the wife likes it, which is saying something
Looks a million dollars now. As this was my first foray into table lamps I wasn’t going to let it beat me. From that stress cracked TL10 to this was a little bit of a learning curve but the end result is lovely, and satisfying to do. Bringing these dirty unloved things back to life is reward in itself, the same as my small stove collection. BUT, like the stoves it’s taken over!!! I now have an M320, a PL53, an X246A Guardsman and I’m waiting on an X246!!!!!!!! Next, a bigger shed to put it all in
