Thanks all. Hopefully you'll find things a lot easier to use here. I'll get some tutorials up soon but if anyone is stuck just holler!

Ross, it is all looking good. I hope that members who are not used to this software (same as CCS) embrace it and realise that it is much simpler to use and has lots more of useful facilities.

    To all:

    Apropos of @shagratork's comment above:

The site is much more user friendly than the old site - for example, posting photos is dead easy!

    Cheers

Major screw-up regarding security. You replaced my nickname with my e-mail adress.

@spiritburner had posted plenty of notice about what to do if your login name differed from your display name. This appears to be what's happened in your case.

Can you go to your settings and reset your display name? That should change it every time it appears.

I've tagged Ross so he can respond with more info than me.

    Cheers

    Tony

    Not possible but now sorted.

Now we have moved I can use admin search tools for the common high end domains in user names & xref back to CCSv1 (under lock & key!) & work through the list.

I was asked if I could log into CPL which I obviously found I can.

Two members, both from the state of Victoria cannot log in. Anthony and Lamp Doctor.

I believe they hit the login button and all they get is a spinning icon that never brings up the log in page.

    Perhaps it's an IP problem?

If Ross or Christer would take a look at their accounts they would be very thankful.

    @Matty

Lamp_Doctor had a different login name at CPLv1. He needs to login as Lamp_Doctor here.

    Anthony login is the same.

If using the correct logins doesn't work they need to visit the link I provided for longilily & message me the IPv4 Ip address that link will show them. It maybe they are temporarily IP blocked after too many failed attempts.

They can contact me at ross at spiritburner dot com

    Ross,

    Thanks.

I think it best I pass on your email provided and they can sort it out with you.

I may have typed the wrong user name for Bob.I'm sure he is using the correct one.

It may also help to clear your web browser cache and/or history, type in "classicpressurelamps.com" by hand to reach the site page and once logged in, saving it anew to your bookmarks/favourites.

    @phaedrus42

    Phil,

Anthony has just bought a new computer and has never logged onto this site so in his case, cache/history isn't the answer. It is only this site he has a problem with.

Can he get on CCS & Fettlebox? If not he's likely got a temp IP block which I can lift once I know his IP. The IP address is likely the same as on his old computer.

    The reply.

I can get on to all of them using hotspot on the phone but not the Telstra or Optus connection.

Can't get or CPL. CCS or fettlebox.co.uk otherwise

It seems extremely quite on the site. I wonder if a lot more people than is knowm are having Anthony's and Bob's problem. They may just be assuming the site is still going through the upgrade and think that's why they can't get on.

I've been wrong thousands of times and this may be no exception.

@Matty Actually - just try again. I've flushed all temp IP blocks from the server. May let some spammers back in but our countermeasures are good.

BTW Anthony is back so progress!

Could be it's Easter holidays & folk have other things to do, general dip in activity etc

Great, I hope I was of some help.

Unlike you, my work is done here so I'll be off.
