What is your 'go-to' power cut lantern?

    At last a local power cut, time to get the lamps out :content:

    Bugger, its 7am and the sun has come out to play :(

    Oh well, break out the pressure stove and get the kettle on :D/

    Depends on the time of year for me. If it's summer time any pressure lamp puts out way too much heat to have indoors if the AC isn't running. That means either battery power, candles or maybe a wickie. If it's winter then a Coleman of some sort. Even though it is the most common and therefore boring lantern this side of the pond it's hard to beat a Coleman 220 for dependable, cheap light.

    either a ex uk army vapalux m320 or a chalwyn far eastern which i bought several of very cheaply in denmark years ago. they too are ex uk army from the 1950's. Mike

    Amazing, my annual water bill is over 10 times what yours is! It’s what comes of living on a dry continent I suppose...
