Winter is back.

Same here, Jeff. We're expecting a really hard frost tonight after a bright, sunny day. The biting cold wind seems to have gone though...

 

Hello David, hopefully the weather will warm up now and the snow will disappear.

 

Warm bright sunny days here still but we're forecast -5/6 degrees C tonight. High pressure with no cloud cover so temperatures plummet once the sun goes down...

 

It's a sunny day with blue skies and a cold wind here and there is still some snow on the highest hill.

 

A lovely warm spring day here so I've had my winter coat surgically removed and replaced by a gilet (or body-warmer as we call them hereabouts)...

 

The weather has been very mixed here today with a cold flying gale and rain and hail showers and some sunny spells.

 

It's now the 3/5/21 and the snow is back on the highest hills here in Shetland.

 

Plenty snow on top of the Cuillins on Skye last week. Saw it from ground level of course.

 

Last time I interfered with Ben Nevis (on the 27th May 2001) there was quite a bit of snow left on the top so we've still got three weeks to go to beat that...

 

There have now been some heavy rain showers and most of the snow has gone.

It's been many years since I last saw the Cuillins or Ben Nevis, Ronas Hill which is the highest hill in Shetland is only 1476.38 feet high (450 meters).

It had started to warm up, bringing out some blossom but some cold nights about yet..
“Ne’er cast a clout ‘til May be out” is still true this year..

Another shocker here today, this morning was not so bad I changed the oil in the car, but about 4:30 started with hail stones like peas, it went on for a while and at 9:00 my garden and the surrounding hills are white over with a cover of hail stones.

 

The weather today has been rather mixed with sunny spells and rain and hail showers and a flying freezing cold gale.
