Well we got there in the end, still cannot believe I have managed to finish these pair of Bialaddin 305's. Massive thanks to @paul m for providing the essential parts required to finish both lamps, not easy finding some parts for these lamps. Really Happy the way they turned out even though they are no where near the quality I've seen on some restorations on this forum but ideal for nice working examples. Next stage is to maybe get the hoods enamelled again or go for the red and green one's on the net for the port starboard theme, as I want to keep them as a pair with their own character. Below is some pic's of a before and after and a light up, one lamp had to be started twice and the other lit up first time, both lamps burning really well.
Thanks for the comments, really like these lamps. Love how they don't heat up the hands when carrying them around with the handle, the few Tilley's I have can feel quite hot a times.
Top job @0P30 - perseverance and I suspect more than a bit of graft paid off. A good fettle and they are unrecognisable from the start position ! Chris
Thanks again everyone for the comments, I know they probably should have been painted green for the proper restoration, but I really like the brass as it will suit their final look, on that note a guy on IG says he can enamel the hood's which is good news for the theme I'm looking. Will give him a shout soon(not sure if he is on the forum). So hopefully that will be the final update on these pair of 305's, do have another 305 project down the line which will have a painted base, that's for another thread
