    Here is my example of the Blanchard “hospital” lamp. Please do not mind the dust; I am a bit apprehensive about cleaning it just yet.

    Wo! Excellent!

    That lamp appears to be in very, very good condition.

    To answer your questions, yes it is in very fine shape but it do not believe it is unfired; luckily the separate mantle holder is still there.

    No, it didn’t come with a box or extra goodies but I think I can live with that. :lol:

    It appears to have been hanging on a wall for a very, very long time.

    I’ll find a very soft cloth to get the dust off with and get some more detailed pictures of the burner.

    I forgot to ask; does anyone know when these were produced?

    It's made by WM Still so after 1922 but the Britsh Army were using these during WW2 and as the design never changed they are hard to date. However some of the burner units have a cp and date mark on the sheet brass skirt which you can only see when the green enamel casing is removed. ::Neil::

    Like Neil says there maybe a date on the burner to give it a proper date unless someone has swapped the burner out.
    But the Wm still name plate with Grenville Street as the address means it could be any time after 1937 before this date they were made at 29 Charles Street also seen on this name plate.
    Nice lamp, one I never have managed to have my hands on well done.

    @Alenstein

    Yes, it is original and in pretty fair shape.

    The burner unit itself is a stand alone unit, easily removed and installed with no worry’s of damaging the cleaning tip.

    Given the short length of the air tubes and no holes in the hoods; I can see how it is said to burn brighter without them.

    I would happily fettle these all day long if I could find them.
