@Rangie Alec’s alliteration astounded all admiring accolytes.

Are you in the USA at the moment?

I meant to take the Townson & Coxson military stove but forgot to pack it.

How to conveniently support lamps 2 to 3m above ground level while camping is something I have yet to solve, but a B&D Workmate!

For one, it doesn’t fit in my rucksack.

    Works well though...

The only solution if not car camping is to have a lightweight, compact ‘backpacking’ lantern - Coleman 222 or 226 - and to hang it from a tree branch.

    … as here

If car camping bulk/weight isn’t an issue, and the Workmate was primarily my cooking platform and food prep bench. It’s multi-role use and ability to fold up to pack in the car made it indispensable.

For ‘just’ a light stand I rely on disco-light stands. Again, a base camp feature. Newark CCS meet in this case.

Likewise, with the addition of a shepherd hook lamp support, bent appropriately.
It's just to heavy for my camping trips, looking for a lightweight solution.
