Blanchard lamp help please

    An excellent fettle. Well done !

    Certainly that size and shape but without the small hole at the bottom. But hey, the glasses you have work and in the dark you won't notice the "reflection" in the larger glass.

    Good fettle, good report. Globe(s) can be bought at base camp.
    As are the original mantles with ring.

    Excellent news ! and very well done - you didn't start on the easiest of lanterns.. I would look to get the "proper" mantles, and if it were me I would change the globes, but they probably won't be cheap.. on the other hand it is a splendid and quite rare lantern.

    Thanks for all your kind comments and helpful information.I've enjoyed restoring this .I think Katy has some old Tilley lamps that I may be looking at later but in the meantime a friend has brought me this. I believe he obtained it from British Rail but that's as much as I know about it to date. Regards Chris
