These lamps were made with either brass or copper founts. I suspect the copper ones were intended for use in Floor standard or Jacobean lamps but they do turn up in the KL80 harp. This one may be from the late 1930s or perhaps earlier. Hard to tell because Tilley did not list a copper version and of course fittings like pumps and valves can be changed.
What a top find mate, the copper is superb and really impressive. I wouldn't mind one of these copper founts in my collection.
The copper tanks don't turn up so often and when they do are normally at a premium. Can't really date them but I suspect all are mid 1930s at the latest and likely earlier. Maybe never sold in Aus which may explain your lack. ::Neil::
The bakelite knob on the control cock would put the lamp at 1934+ but the tank may be older, of course. Cheers Tony
