it has pyrex brand on the glass i cant really tell much more about this lamp other than it may be around the late 1920s early 1930s..

Hello Kenny, that's an excellent find!

I reckon that it's an early model, I would date this one at around 1920; because it's style is less simple than the other versions of this model which I have seen.

Based on the Blanchard paperwork which I have, the earlier the model the more ornate it is.

I have some Blanchard adverts from 1914, and some of the lamps are rather ornate. Jeff.

Hi Jeff you could be right there but whats funny is that the burners on this lamp are in almost new condition as is the control knobs,,
it was electrified when i got it but no damage to the lamp THANK GOD !!!
so it may have been kept inside for a long time and not in the outhouse..

i have another blanchard that is more ornate than this one i will post it here soon.

    kenny

Hello Kenny, I shall look forward to seeing the more ornate lamp.

Blanchards do seem to find their way to you!

Are you still intending to post photos of your Coleman HQ.,? Jeff.

    Hi Kenny,
That is a nice looking early Blanchard you have there  . From the paperwork i have hear and my knowledge of Blanchard lamps, I think this lamp could be or is an early model 1215?, and would date from about 1918 to 1924.

As you know early Blanchard's made from about 1907 to at least 1914, had the model number stamped on the name plate, which is very helpful.
Later ones made up to 1924 did not have a model number added.

The Blanchard Lamp Company was taken over by W.M. Still in 1924/25 and they carried on making most of the Blanchard lamp model's, but just not so ormate, a lot more plain and easier to make no doubt, as can be seen in there 1929 and 1932 paperwork.

Later made versions of this 1215 model by W.M. Still and W.T. Barnard have plain strait arms, like the other ones you have.

If the burner are the original ones they will have the date stamped on the outer case of the burner. I notice the right hand end, has a left hand burner on it, so that one at least must have been replaced at some time.

    cheers Jim

    Hi Kenny,
Blanchard Burners did come in both left and right hand versions, but the right hand version was only made to go on twin burner lamps, like this one. All single burner lamps had a left hand burner fitter, this was so the the main fuel tap's and the pricker pin wheel's were all on the same side of the lamp. Both globes then also open from the front as well then.

I do know from my late father, that when he was buying Blanchard parts from W.T. Barnard in the 1950s right up to 1965, W.T. Barnard by then was only making left hand burner. My father was told "there was not enought call for right hand replacement burner's", So he was only making left hand ones, as they would suit more lamps. Two left burners work just as well on a twin lamp, you just get the two globes opening from different sides.

W.T. Barnard made Blanchard lamp parts up till he retired in 1965. But normally very few parts where ever needed. Blanchard burners seemed to last a very long time.
Only filter's, burner heads and pricker pin's needed replacement from time to time, and mantles and globe's when they got broke.
