Help - how do I post only thumbnail pics in post body - and then post full size pics for detail viewing?
I'm not sure why you'd want to do both. If you post thumbnails, folk can click on them and they open out full-size. If you've posted them full-size what would be the point of the thumbnails? I think it's all to do with the number of images you intend to post. My guess would be, maybe up to 5-6, you'd post full-size; more than that number you might want to consider posting thumbnails. Others may see it differently. One thing though, it's quite common to see very large images here showing acres of nothing surrounding a small object in the centre of the shot. I think it's better to crop images like this and then enlarge them to a decent size - 640x480 is often large enough for a general shot but you may want to go a size or two larger than that to show detail or to produce legible text in instructions or advertising material. Just my own thoughts on the matter...
@BrassMan Brassman, when you have uploaded your files, you can see two buttons next to each file below your text field: "Thumbnail" and "Full image". See image below. As you are composing your text, just make sure that the text marker is where you want your image to be positioned, regardless if you choose thumbnail or full size, and then click once on the option of your choice. But it's very important that you place the marker after a full return, or more. Not directly after the text, which will make everything look bad. One or two full returns are needed. Atleast when posting full size images. A thumbnail might have its place in line with the text on rare occasions. Screenshot below show what I mean by placing the text marker after a couple of returns. Once it's there, it's just to click on the file you intend to insert at that particular position:
If I'm posting something and want to control how it looks I dump everything in, upload it and then use the edit facility to move stuff around using cut and paste on the code. It's pretty easy and I find I have much more control that way. Oh, you've only got a limited time to make your edits though, an hour I think - so you can't sleep on it and go back the next day otherwise it'll be too late.
I’m having no luck uploading pics from my iPhone. Msg says incorrect file ??? I have uploaded several times previously without a problem
@Mustlust Does the message give you what your photo file extension is? *.jpg and *.jpeg are fine for here. Tony
Screenshots are an automatic .png format. You learn something everyday! There is a lantern on evil bay that I’m interested in, looks like an EX100 but not sure, missing glass. Also one on gumtree, quite unusual and listed from parrearra in Qld as ‘antique tilly suspension lamp’. I’d be interested in your thoughts.
@Mustlust You can place your screenshot into your photo file. It will convert to *.jpg. Use the export function and export to image libraray on your iPhone. Tony
