Hi all, This is my example of the Akron gasoline fed 106-G “Out-door Wall Hanging Lamp”, probably made around 1923. This lamp has still the old type of vent that was replaced, I assume, with a “Coleman style” vent during 1923. In two 1923 Akron lamp catalogues you can see both this vent versions. With the “new” low profile tank that was introduced in 1922-23 (according to Neil) I assume my lamp to be a transition lamp. Some fettling and clean up was needed on this one, and I also got a new made mica globe from Fred Kuntz (thanks). The lamp fired up nicely and I think this is quite a rare piece and I’m happy to add it to my collection. Here is the 106 with a 1916 Akron 90 lantern. Similar vents but not identical; the 106 has what probably is the second Akron lantern vent type...... /Conny
Thanks Mods for the correction. I had problem with uploading and was disconnected several times. Maybe the site has disturbances!? /Conny
