Minty Tilley PL53 (wartime)

    Haha. Didn't realize it was yours.. I google "PL53 steel" and the EX-100 was in the photos.

    Yeah i agree that the cleaned up photos look like the vaporizer is painted, that's due to not polishing the generator like the arms, as they are nice shiny steel. But without polish it does look like a flat high temp paint. LOL

    I don't think mine is either as it has some pretty obvious wear marks that would be impossible to replicate. like the mark beside the warning label.. that's from the handle hitting the fount and allowing the tinned steel to corrode. After the comments about it being repainted i did question it as the paint shouldn't dissolve in meths.

    The meths were not lit, i was just adding another full cup to preheat, i over poured and it immediately made those marks and paint was gone.. i thought it was a stain, but no it eat all the paint.
    Now tho, i do notice the paint is super thin, and maybe that's why it reacted so fast, or something to do with the paint, the meths, and the tinned steel... (an odd chemical reaction?)
