Just brought my first Tilley lamp.
I have got bitten by the kerosene pressure toys, torches, stoves and now lamps. I already have an AustraMax lamp that was my fathers but reading pages on this forum I figured it was time to get a tilley. I think it is a 246, not sure of its designation nor its age perhaps a learned member can advise.
The enamel top seems in reasonable condition, the glass is in one piece and has 171 numbered on the side of it. The pump seems loose assume cup washer is munted and needs a new one the other fittings seem pretty tight and will need some penetrene or wd40. The bottom looks like it has been dropped (see pics) but I reckon I can tap it out nice and round again.
Any way the fun will begin. Already have another couple on its way. One does not have a glass but it was cheaper to buy two lamps with glass intact than buy a new glass for it? Dam you guys its all your fault
    Cheers
    Rob

Hi. Yes you have a X246 Guardsmen. A really good lamp. Change all the seals and it will run like a dream. Seal kits can be purchased here. Tilley Washer Kit - The Fettlebox or you can make your own from Viton rubber.
