Its a very nice lampe Pete. Congratulation. I think it will clean up nice and with a nice "Michel"-shade it will look awesome. I think it looks india-made too and therefor below is not ment as a joke.

Lampmarks from India and Pakistan I know of:

Arihant, Ajanta, AMX, Tata Anil Company, Britex, Canon, Century, Efar, Existo, Fair Deal, Gold Mohar, Gold Star, Hercules, Karamax, Kiran, Lovson, Maruti, Master, Mayer, Molimex, Noorie, Paragon, Petrox, Prabhakar, Primex, Rax, Ruchi, Roshni, Totai-to, Vimal, Weston, Wilson.

Maybe a single mistake is between the above marks but the list should be fairly clean.

I will of course also search among them - starting from the bottom and up, meeting you halfway :D

I dont think it looks so poorly made, but you can of course feel the lamp. It looks like a lamp from the 1910-1930 judged from the style.

    Thanks for sharing  .

Hello Pete, it's style is similar to several French table lamps, Jeff.

The pump kinda reminds me of this from a Kitson:

The burner head also looks a bit Kitson like. Most Kitson is marked though so a copy maybe? ::Neil::

well plenty of ideas there lads
I have had another look at it tonight down the pump hole and the base is totally rotted out yet it has a base so a plate had been solder in the base. This new base looks like the bottom of a big paint tin or food tin with concentric circles in I will post a picture soon.
the pump is like a kitson with the hexagon NRV style and like you say Neil some kitson burners are coil type so must be a clone type lamp made in asia ?? just a guess, I thought the S type stem and burner hood had smacks of Blanchard about it too so its still a mystery one till some paper turns up

Yeah is does look a bit like the Blanchard swan-neck table lamp. There was one of those on ebay recently but surprise surprise it disappeared half-way through the auction. Anyone want to own up :D

Not only the coil but the way the jet is presented looks sort of Kitson. I also thought it looked Blanchard in style but not quite right. I suspect you are right and it is a Far East copy.

I had a bid in that Bracket but it dissapeared on me.::Neil::
