Here is a Blanchard hanging lamp burner is dated as may 1922 what is unusual about the lamp is the flat bar arms instead of the usual tubes we see on their other lamps, it also has alloy reflectors again not the normal green\white enamel ones. The top reflector is a die cast alloy one while the bottom one is spun as they usually are. It is missing the top two cowls but i bet they was also alloy. This lamp has a serial number 35 in the usual place just under the tank and i do know of another example of this lamp but that one has the green reflectors. The pipe work and fittings are of the same size and type as what we see on the Blanchard handlamps so maybe these were for a special contract possibly army this is just a guess no proof or paperwork has been found on this model as yet. Burner was excellent so its had little use but loads of leaks in the pipework all sorted now and runs fine. The steel flatbar arms have traces of a bronze enamel on so maybe this was the original colour cheers pete
Well you've done it again Pete, perhaps it was the garage door in the background but as soon as I saw the picture in the side bar I knew it was yours. It's no wonder Blanchard's are so rare, you've got them all locked away in your collection. I'm sure you'll manage to make those cowls for the burner. Are they the same as the ones you made for your other lamp, just in alloy? Well done, nice one.
